A Tank Level Gauging system that can be interrogated using satellite communications has been developed by PSM Instrumentation. The Company has been a leading manufacturer of tank level gauging systems for 30 years and its long running 200 and 260 series of electronic level and pressure transmitters are well known.  Now PSM has launched iCT, a new digital dual function sensor with associated systems fully developed by PSM for the marine market.  PSM claim many benefits may be derived from the new system including low cost and simple installation, either at building or as a retrofit.

All sensors connect directly to a common bus with bidirectional MODBUS based communication enabling them to perform a programmable range of multi-tasks of measurement, diagnostics and reporting functions.  Measuring pressure, liquid level and temperature on a single integrated miniature ceramic platform, the iCT sensor is designed to be robust enough to meet the demands of military marine environments in additional to those of commercial ships.  A choice of over 40 process fittings is available as standard.  Additionally, PSM Offer all the easy-connection data cable connectors / junction boxes and local displays to make installation fast and efficient in any tank duty - from cargo to FO and ballast.  Satellite transmission of ships on-line ballast and fuelling condition is now a cost viable reality, claims PSM.  The condition of all ships tankage can now be remotely interrogated right down to sensor level via the internet from the operators office for complete monitoring and operation al planning.
