TANKVIEW APPLICATION

Tankview ApplicationTwo recent installations of Tankview demonstrate the Flexibility and Power of this Windows based software package.

The first installation is a blending plant in Singapore for food flavourings which includes 16 off 1200 litre process vessels and 3 off bulk storage tanks positioned remotely from the process area. All tanks are pressurised to prevent contamination of product, the process tanks on a common manifold and the bulk tanks individually.

The customer required local volumetric measurement and control for each tank and remote monitoring of all vessels in the control room. This was accomplished with a PSM 2000 multi-tank system in the process area programmed with `look up tank tables’, product variables and topping pressures for each tank. This unit calculated accurate tank volume plus alarm status for all 16 tanks. The 3 off Bulk tanks had individual Minders carrying out a similar function.

Signals from each area were transmitted via RS232 signals back to the control room and displayed on a standard PC with Tankview giving a Graphical presentation of the plant tank layout coupled with individual display of each tank status.

The second installation is a Solvent Treatment Plant in the North West of UK, this will ultimately monitor around 50 tanks. Products in this plant are hazardous requiring IS installation of all instruments. An MTL multiplexing system was employed to interface with PSM transmitters and communicate to Tankview. Since in some tanks the product can change daily, Tankview’s library facility which allows any number of product types to be stored for simple selection was a great benefit in this application

Both the above installations demonstrate Tankview ability for customers to easily set up the display with full control over Tank groupings, Text, colours, sizes and alarm levels , this coupled with the power to configure any number of inputs and the flexibility of adding additional inputs/tanks as required.
