DENSITY TRANSMITTER
Click for High Resolution PictureDENSTAR PRESS RELEASE

The PSM "DENSTAR" density transmitter is the first fully submersible sensor designed for purpose.

A new generation of density transmitters employing the DP principle are both rugged yet sensitive providing an accurate measurement of the density or specific gravity in drilling mud / drilling fluid holding tanks and return sumps. The Denstar is temperature compensated to 120 Deg. C and is certified Intrinsically Safe. Construction is of Hastelloy C and 316L st.st. to be resistant to corrosive media and diaphragms are protected from stone damage by an integral heavy duty caging.

Installation is simplified by an integral threaded "pole adapter" which provides mechanical fixing and Density Transmitter for mud applicationselectrical cable passage in one easy operation.

The remote amplifier is housed in a robust IP67 enclosure and transmits a standard 4-20 signal "2-wire" loop powered mode.

CONTINUOUS DENSITY MEASUREMENT

Mud, ( the offshore drilling kind) beer, cement slurry, chemicals are just a few of the applications for the new Series 290 series density and S.G. transmitters. The photo depicts one of a series for "drilling mud Density" for the offshore industry and supplied to a Houston based drilling corporation who claim the performance has been excellent. This application is particularly arduous and life expectancy of traditional instruments is 3 - 6 months only. PSM has had four systems in service for nearly one year now and still going strong! A better performance, lower price and 4 times the life- is that a deal, or what? The 290 is Certified Intrinsically Safe and is unique in use. As far as we know or are told it is the only fully integral device for this application. Conventional systems offered by competitors all use a hybrid construction of filled diaphragm seals which introduce large errors and at least 50% higher in price! There are many additional benefits, so if you have an offshore industry in your territory call us for data sheets and "Sales application notes" . - If you don’t have an offshore industry, there could be many opportunities in other industries, ie. food and beverages, chemicals etc. We have been surprised at the interest from the most unlikely industries.
