QUALITY ASSURED

BS EN ISO 9001 : 2000 certification by Lloyds Register PSM
Instrumentation has been dedicated to the quality of its product, and the
services it provides to its customers since the company began.
Initially, we worked to the BS5750 standard to ensure our products were
consistently manufactured to the highest standard.
As the standards have been revised over the years PSM Instrumentation
have used these to improve its overall company service.
We achieved accreditation to ISO9001: 1994 in 1998 with Electrical
Equipment Certification Service (EECS). When
EECS closed, we decided to transfer our certificate to Lloyd’s Register
Quality Assurance. In 2002 we made a successful transition to the revised
ISO9001: 2000 standard. An ISO Certificate is not for all time; it must be maintained and renewed at regular intervals. LRQA carry out surveillance visits throughout the year and a full certificate renewal every three years. This ensures PSM Instrumentation continue to maintain a high standard quality management system, and continually improve. |

Quality Assurance Notification As many of our products are intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, we need to comply with the Directive 94/9/EC (ATEX) Products under ATEX for potentially explosive atmospheres have to be designed and manufactured to specific British Standards to ensure the safety is met for its intended use. As well as the individual product being tested and approved, PSM Instrumentation quality system also has to be approved to BS EN13980: 2002. This standard is complementary to ISO 9001; its purpose is to embrace manufacturing practices that are appropriate to these products. Intertek are our notified body in this regard, and much like our quality system we are audited and certified on a regular basis on our quality systems. This is far more focussed on the production and inspection aspects of manufacture ensuring the highest standards are met and maintained.

Customer Care
Listening to customers & responding to their needs. In today’s ever increasing competitive global markets there are ever greater pressures to improve existing levels of customer care. It is also important to recognise that customer care is not exclusively product related, but rather encompasses a whole range of other issues. The concept of TQM - Total Quality Management - is not a new phenomenon, but against a background of fierce competition, both within the UK, and more pointedly in international markets due to the continued rise in exchange rates, it is increasingly important that we, collectively, aim to provide a level of customer service that exceeds our competitors and that satisfies our customers expectations. Very few would state that they have 100% TQM and certainly we are no exception. However, recognition, plus the systems which enable constant improvement, are definitely part of our routine. We now offer a 'repair by replacement' service where possible, which has been adopted in order to speed up our response to your needs. For details please click here
