IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT CONCERNING ALL INSTRUMENT REPAIRS AND RETURNS

As part of our commitment to Quality we, at PSM, constantly seek ways of improving our customer service.

  • One of the ways we can increase effectiveness is by introduction of a new “Instrument replacement” initiative enabling instrument returns and repairs to be handled quickly and efficiently.

  • This initiative offers customers a speedy service for all standard instrument repairs and warranty returns, by providing a fully guaranteed service exchange instrument, based on standard published prices.

  • It removes the need for the many time-consuming procedures, which often prevent fast turn around of repairs. Such problems as transport delays; detailed fault reporting which often require lengthy machining & investigation; Health and Safety rules which require decontamination documents; delays in receiving authority to proceed.  – These can all prevent the fast return of vital instruments to their duty.

  • Customers who wish to return an instrument for any reason should first contact the Sales Department, who will take the details and in most cases can immediately arrange for the production of a suitable exchange unit.

  • The simple procedure is as follows:

 

    1. Contact may be by Telephone, fax or email.

    2. The Sales department will require the serial number and model code of the faulty unit

    3.  A Purchase Order number must be advised.

    4. Sales will give the Customer a RETURNS VALIDATION NUMBER. (RVN) to be used on any subsequent correspondence and, most important, to identify the faulty unit (On the outside of the packing), when it is later returned.

    5. Despatch of a fully guaranteed exchange instrument to the original specification (or current production equivalent) will be arranged as soon as possible. For most standard instruments and many stock items a FASTRACK service will be provided at no extra cost.

    6. A full value invoice will accompany the goods and a “no quibble” fixed value credit is issued immediately the old or faulty instrument is received at our works.
